That $700 Melt Lamp Doesn’t Look Right. Here’s Why.

But here’s the honest limitation: Do not buy a Melt pendant if your sole priority is task lighting or uniform illumination. It throws a patterned, scattered light. For a desk, a reading nook, or a task kitchen island, it will give you headaches. It’s not a small downlight . It’s a decorative feature that happens to emit light.
